Angwusngsi, Crow Mother Kachina Doll by Edward Masawytewa

Crow Mother (Angwusngsi) is said to be the mother of all Kachinas.  She provides a true maternal presence to all and is said to be the guardian of the children and supervisor in their initiation rites.

Traditional, "old style" Hopi Kachina doll made from cottonwood tree root and painted with natural mineral pigments. This Angwusngsi (Crow Mother) kachina doll measures 8.5 inches tall and was carved by Edward Masawytewa.
